Purple Dot has been a godsend in better managing our business by enabling pre-orders. The furniture industry inherently has issues when it comes to inventory availability and delays that can affect the landing of goods, customs clearance and shipping, therefore being able to take orders from clients and to communicate the pre-ship status has helped reduce the amount of customer service inquiries that we receive.

What I love about this app is that the customer doesn't pay for the goods until it's ready to ship. We felt that this was really important in todays market. It's super simple to use and I prefer paying for each transaction rather than a monthly amount as we have so many apps! Having it installed means that we don't miss out on those important sales!

I had a challenge with Shopify separating regular orders from the Purple Dot orders and Shopify was not able to assist. Purple Dot Zach came to the rescue. Not only did he listen carefully, advise of the solution, he even checked back with me to confirm everything was good. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys. And did I mention, USA Support !! THANK YOU

This app has been very easy to install and operate on our own. When we do run into issues (like the app working with other apps) the customer service is fast, efficient and personal, and I can always get them on a call or via email almost immediately. That alone makes this app worth it as many of these add ons have little to no service. Highly recommend!

We constantly sell out and had to take pre orders which shopify is completely not set up for...and when we had delays, we had to manually email everyone (even with klaviyo, some emails get listed, hard to figure out which orders are pre order, etc). it was just a nightmare! Purple Dot is a life saver! Now pre orders are so much easier to manage, and it's easy to communicate to everyone on the status of their order and clients like that they dont' get charged until they ship. I like that it's charged per order and not a monthly subscription. Highly recommend

We've tried other pre-order apps, but this is by far the best! Customers like that they aren't charged right away, and the communication to customers is super clear and well done. I have very recently set up my Shopify store and am still getting to grips with all it has to offer. From the reviews for Purple Dot I thought it would be the best app to use for pre-orders, plus I like how they just charge a fee for each sale and not a monthly subscription as many of the others I looked into. I had a little enquiry and am absolutely thrilled with the customer service from Zach. He has replied to my messages very quickly and has been super helpful, even sending me a personal video with a step by step guide to help me with my enquiry which was super easy to follow. Absolutely recommend and would give more stars if I could. Thanks Zach and Purple Dot!

Purple Dot is such a great app! We started using it very recently, so we're kicking ourselves for not finding it sooner. Before Purple Dot, we took some pre-orders, but it was no different than how we took orders for in-stock items. And one of the benefits with Purple Dot is the amount of time we've saved by not having to constantly email angry customers asking us when their purchase will arrive. Not to mention the stellar and responsive help from the support team! Full Disclosure: We have yet to fulfill a pre-order, but I'm optimistic the process will be great.

Update 5-22-23: I appreciate support getting the product refreshed in the app and the ability to add them to a waiting list but I have been waiting 8 days to get the product page button and 3 lines of text to show. After giving access to store for the devs there is still no resolution. I guess I will have to look elsewhere as I need this to work so I can recover lost sales due to availability by offering pre-sale. Update 5-16-23: Would not update products, showing orders as unfulfilled even though they were completed when I had the app before. I have asked to reset or remove the old info but they were unable to do this. It would cause a mess to use this app as it is. Update: I have had to make several changes to my theme in order to use Purple Dot. You cannot have ATC buttons in collections page or in any featured products. No quick view on your site. Also no comparable buttons. If you have these items and are unable to turn them off the app will oversell your pre-order items because Shopify will not allow a fix so that this would not happen. They denied several pre-order apps changes. Thank you Purple Dot support for your help. I was so excited to find this waitlist app to let my customers pre-order Christmas ornaments ahead of time. I am not gonna say there are no issues but Jaimee in customers service jumped on a zoom and we are working together to get these resolved. Hoping by the end of the week we will be able to offer our customers a pre-order option.

This app has served us well for taking pre-orders and the customer support has been amazing whenever we've had an issue. Only recommendation for improvement would be an easier way to transition a product from pre-order to regular orders such as transferring the remaining pre-order inventory to available inventory. Right now, I have to make those changes manually (and remember to do it).

Installed and used the app for two weeks. 2 major negatives: 1. It covered our product pre-order pages with "powered by purple dot". 2. Our products disappeared from the Google shopping channel. After uninstalling the app all the products reappeared on Google shopping. Unacceptable. 1*

Not usable for Europe where people don't own creditcards as much as in the US. We can only get pre-order through creditcard, and when a pre-order is bought together with a stock item, the stock item loses all other payment options like PayPal.
