In November, upon selecting Sync Products in the Gelato dashboard, half of my Shopify products lost their connection to their corresponding Gelato products. Unfortunately, I could not reconnect my Shopify products with my existing Gelato products in the Gelato dashboard. Therefore, I asked the support team at Gelato to manually reconnect my products. I provided a detailed report about the issue and answered all their questions. Being a software engineer, I even offered to help with debugging, but they declined the offer. After making me wait for *two months*, the support team deleted my existing Gelato products and asked me to create each of them from scratch, which would take me at least six hours. I refused to do it in November, and I refuse to do it now, because it would be an unfair solution to an issue that I did not cause in the first place. While Gelato’s products are fine, and while their Shopify app probably works well most of the time, my experience with their support team is sufficient to justify the score. It’s a shame, because I believe their model “sell globally, produce locally” is the only sustainable one. *Update* Perhaps triggered by this review, Gelato finally scheduled a call with their head of customer advocacy and head of product management. They sincerely apologized for how they handled my issue, solved my issue within a few hours, and informed me about upcoming improvements that should prevent similar issues from happening again. I appreciate the efforts they put into this, so I am updating the score accordingly.

I have been using Gelato for a few months with mixed results. 1 - More than half of my customers' orders arrived heavily damaged - while the box was not damaged, indicating the printers damaged the product and thought it was ok to ship it like that. Thankfully, Gelato has always been very good at refunding me for replacing orders, but it has left my customers with a bad first impression. With one customer, her replacement was also damaged so I had to have a third one sent to her. It also means a lot of extra work for me. 2 - Prices for the items I sell often fluctuate - sometimes dramatically - without notice. Recently, after having gone up significantly (one item went from $43 to $62) almost all of the prices have been slowly creeping up. Making it really difficult to set my pricing and plan properly. I brought these price jumps to their attention several times and always get a generic answer like "That does look strange, we'll forward this to the appropriate department", after which I never get a satisfactory answer or solution. 3 - The aluminum prints are very nice, with great printing quality. It seems some of the sizes ship from Canada and arrive very quickly and in great condition, while other sizes ship from the US, take a long time to arrive, and almost always arrive damaged, as mentioned above. 4 - The app is good to use and the product display images are great. I would love to continue using Gelato because my customers really like the aluminum prints (when they are not damaged), but a few things are making it rather frustrating to use. I will happily change my star rating if these issues are properly resolved! **UPDATE** Achille from Gelato reached out to me to address my concerns and he was very patient and we had a video conversation. I really appreciate the time he took and that he followed up by explaining the price changes were caused by an introductory signup discount that had not been clearly communicated to me before. He apologized for the lack of previous communication and promised to do better in the future. He assured me that they have not had a significant number of complaints about damaged orders so it was probably just very bad luck on my part. I'm currently in the process of redesigning my shop and introducing new products so have not had more sales since to confirm that quality control is not an issue. I will update again when I've had satisfactory quality control, but as I said before, I appreciate that they always refund quickly for replacing damaged orders.

I'm very happy that I switched to Gelato, from another POD service. Gelato prints locally, which means fast delivery, no customs duty for customers (in most cases) and better tracking.

Ones of the absolut best print on demand system out there! I really recommend to use this system. What I love about it is the 24/7 support system, because I have so many questions all the time and I feel safe that I have someone to talk to. Dashboard is great and delivers fast. 5 of 5 from me!

If you're an Australian based business seriously reconsider. All of our orders placed up untill this point have been printed overseas resulting in a 3 week wait before arrival. Customer service is prompt but rarely can they solve a technical problem without deferring to their development team leaving you waiting days for a resolution. Beware of the free samples. If you want a true indication of product quality ensure you order outside of the free sample offer. Orders placed in this period must certainly go to their premium suppliers as the quality of the prints produced for free are remarkably different to what we now receive. It's a real shame, they have a great solution. But if you care about consistency and quality look for another solution.

We use gelato app for Amazon through Shopify and we are more than happy thanks to one thing : they are open to feedbacks and work with you in order to improve their app. We are located in France and the previous printer for mugs was located in UK so they decided to hire a new printer in France in order to reduce shipping time based on our needs. Thanks for this improvement and taking time to discuss with us !

I had a lot of conversation with Gelato about a few issues, one of which was never resolved. Pros: -Quality prints (sample test); -Very fast service in the USA and a satisfied customer (one sale only with Gelato); -Good communication (chat help line); -Integration with Shopify works well. Cons: -Prices are constantly changing; -A price bug (big increase) which was fixed a few days later (after multiple communications); -Problem of shipping to Canada - more than a month for delivery with Purolator - it's important to me, I am Canadian; - Inability to integrate with Amazon. In summary, I am satisfied, but since I have Canadian and American customers, the delivery time to Canada worries me. Because of this issue, I am looking for a POD that can deliver to Canada faster. Then as I will start to sell on Amazon, the fact that it does not allow integration at the moment, is not positive.

Just some few things to improve regarding the with/without frames for posters but overall this is a wonderful app !! The support is also amazing, don't hesitate to contact them ! Highly recommend.

We are using the integration with Gelato for over two month now. During this time they impressed me on the ease of connecting the products + reaching the customer service with a great response time, always available and quick to reply. There is something else that is great, the delivery times change due to seasonal changes quiet often. This is something we all know of course. But they actively engage with e-mails to keep you posted on this and helping you think about solutions for your customers for this (getting notice to your customers to buy early due to delivery problems during seasonal holidays.)

Very good app, order process is fast and easy to use. Like every app there are prons and cons, after having test them all Gelato is by far the best app.. A lot of new products and updates are coming and I am really excited to keep going in this adventure with them. I can only recommand this app. Try it before judging it.

AVOID THEM AT ANY COST! Gelato is a big time scammer and they have no control over their printing partners. All they do is COVID COVID COVID. They are advertising fake Dec 10 deadlines for Christmas orders and now the orders placed on Dec 3 shows estimated delivery of 29th (this is fake too and keeps on extending). They will take your money and forget about orders. 11 days and they couldn't even ship a print. And don't even try to reach out to me again. I am done with you SCAMMERS! You guys have ruined my business and they will ruin yours.

First of all, this is not a paid review. It will probably sound like that, but rest assure I'm just a satisfied customer. Since a lot of reviewers here seem a little quick on the negative, I thought I balance that out with a little more indepth good experience. I been using one of Gelatos competitors for 2 years, and been super happy. Everything have worked out fine, and it was easy to use. Never had any returns, which means the customers was satisfied with the products. So I really wasn’t searching for a new provider, but the customers have had been waiting longer and longer for their orders. Sometimes up to 2-3 weeks. I know it’s challenging times, but it’s another problem nevertheless. One day someone asked me if I used ”Gelato”, a name that never came up in my research when I was looking to find a fulfillment partner the first time. Of course I looked them up, just out of curiosity. And since I’ve begun having some issues with long shipping times, I immediately fell for their "Local shipping, worldwide” USP. Since I really had nothing to lose, I gave them I try. Without disconnecting the fulfillement partner I already had, of course. A couple of hours after I signed up, I got a standard ”welcome letter”. Which was nice, but since there was one thing missing in Gelato I really liked in my current provider (A library of my files) I decided to answer that bot-mail and tell them that. To my surprise, I got an answer after just a couple of minutes. They told me this was under development, and will be on Gelato soon. But until then he presented a personal work-around that would solve my ”problem”. And it definitely did. After that, I’ve continued to send them my personal thoughts on my experience, and they kept on delivering superb answers and solutions to each of my questions. Now I have, together with them, created a tailored solution that works almost perfect for my needs, and way better than it did at the competitor before. The better pricing is really just a bonus, to have the customers receive their products within a couple of days is amazing. I´m superhappy I took a chance.

Fantastic App and service, i have been looking for a very long time for a POD service that offers fast shipping at a good price, high quality prints and proper integration with all my platforms. I love that I can integrate/sync products with my existing products on Etsy and in Shopify. I have used many of POD services that don't offer this crucial feature. The shipping is unbelievably fast! some of my customers receive their order within two days! I still use Printify for my cushions and phone case orders but I'm hoping Gelato add more products soon so I can switch entirely to Gelato.

Usually support responds in a timely manner and sometimes you have to remind them. I got a hold of support 12 days ago with an inquiry and I still have not received a response to my question. I checked in with them 5 days ago and I was told that the matter had been escalated to their technical team. I have not heard back from them since. Seriously considering not using them anymore.

some pros and cons to this app Pros - good pricing compared with other such as printify - Really Good Customer service - Good Mockups that are easy to use Cons - You can only publish to Shopify or Etsy, no ebay or amazon integration - When creating new products, if you want to sell the product on both shopify and etsy you have to create the product twice, one for each store - If you create a new product in Gelato and decide you want someone else/yourself to fullfill the item you can easily select gelato to ignore orders of the product, however if you later decide you want to reconnect the product to gelato then you need to create the whole product again
